James Bond planted the seed. Since then, tough men, with great aim and, above all, very well dressed have become an action movie cliché.
However, few characters have managed to be more than a simple copy and bring something truly authentic. In short, to inspire us as much as James Bond did (and continues to do so):
Neil mccauley
Movie: Heat
Vintage: 1995
Actor: Robert DeNiro
In this action film classic directed by Michael Mann, Robert De Niro plays a thief who is as meticulous in planning and executing his robberies as he is in choosing his structured suits, typical of the tailoring of the mid-90s.
Ethan Hunt
Movie: Mission Impossible
Vintage: 1996
Actor: Tom Cruise
Without a doubt, the first and best part of this action saga. Directed by Brian De Palma, the film never fails to wake up nostalgia for the 90s with its careful aesthetics, in which Tom Cruise's wardrobe plays a key role. Our favorite look, this one: V-neck sweater + leather jacket. As simple as it is cool.
Sergeant Jerry Wooters
Movie: Gangster Squad
Vintage: 2013
Actor: Ryan Goslin
A film that went quite unnoticed because of its many defects, although the costumes (especially that of its protagonist) are not among them. Gosling wears a impeccable selection of looks inspired by the late 40s. A modern interpretation of the extreme formality of the time.
Harry Hart
Movie: Kingsman: Secret Service
Vintage: 2014
Actor: Colin Firth
The online men's fashion store, Mr Porter, was in charge of the costumes for this film. Such was the success of the collaboration that the Kingsman brand continued independently, having now reached its fifth season. The quintessential English gentleman. His greatest merit, recovering the double-breasted jackets.
