How to assemble a suitcase?

assemble-suitcase

If you are about to go on a trip and you don't have someone to pack your suitcase for you… you must learn to do it! It is very easy, although it is quite a tedious task… The only thing you have to think about is how you will enjoy that trip, then it will be easier for you.

If you want to do this task in the fastest way, you must order yourself. The first thing you should do (which you can do in advance and write it down on paper) is what things you want to take with you, according to your tastes and especially the weather and the type of trip you will take. Do not take things that you know are uncomfortable or that are not entirely to your liking, because if you do not use it here, much less you will use it on your trip.

You should also think about what type of suitcase you are going to use or if you will use all the space or want to leave some part free for future purchases. For that, you can choose those light and soft suitcases, which can adapt to what you have inside. If you are going to buy a suitcase for this occasion, I advise you to be light and have wheels (the ideal is 4 wheels, but with 2 it is enough) You will thank me in the future….

What my mother made us do when we were children is to put together a list with the things that we will take with us and that list to take with us on the trip, as a kind of inventory, which can help us a lot when it comes to packing our bags back home. It is an option. I keep implementing it and it works for me and I don't forget anything.

As we said previously, we must take into account when assembling the suitcase, the number of days to stay, the weather (if it is very cold or hot in the destination), if it is a vacation or a business trip, if We plan to walk a lot or night outings will be prioritized.

The ideal is to be able to wear basic clothes, which are easily combinable and that from a garment we can get several outfits. If you travel for work, we must get a suitcase and choose shirts and ties that can be combined with each other.

In the accommodating of the suitcase, there are several ways. The way I put it together is by putting the heaviest and largest garments underneath (such as jeans, pullovers or jackets) and the lightest or most sensitive to wrinkles at the top (T-shirts or shirts).

Plastic bags are a great ally to make the suitcase. I wrap each shoe or sneaker in a plastic bag (so that the rest of the things do not get dirty) and I also take an extra pair for dirty clothes. I have a suitcase that opens like an oyster, leaving half and half a suitcase to put things. It is not very comfortable to open if you are in confined spaces, but to transport clothes, it seems excellent to me. In this way I put all the clothes in one sector of the suitcase and in the other, the shoes and other accessories (other than clothes).

Undergarments, stockings, handkerchiefs, scarves, gloves, hats or belts can serve as fillers for small places that we cannot place otherwise. Also they do not wrinkle.

Ways to fold each garment:

You should take this step into account, since a badly folded shirt will be useless at the destination and you will have to spend extra money to have it ironed again. We will teach you to fold the most difficult garments.

Jacket or jacket:

  • First, empty all the pockets.
  • Place the sleeves inside the jacket and then turn the entire garment so that the lining is on the outside.
  • Fold the garment in half, it can be stored inside a bag and placed in the suitcase.

Pants:

  • First, empty all the pockets.
  • Pants should always be the first thing to be put away.
  • Place them folded at the bottom of the suitcase. If you store more than one, you must store them facing waists with boot cuffs.

Shirts:

  • Fasten all buttons.
  • Lay the shirt face down on a smooth surface and fold the sleeves in a line at shoulder height.
  • Fold the shirt in half below the waist line. This will prevent the line in the middle of the torso from being drawn.

Remember to also put together a bag with the cosmetics that you will use on the trip, such as deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss or mouthwash, after shave, razor, perfume, basic medicines, shampoo and soap and everything else. you think it is necessary to carry or use in your daily life. If you can, wrap liquid things in plastic bags to prevent them from spilling and ruining your clothes.

Before closing it, check everything again. Surely something that you are carrying more or less "escapes" you. Now yes… Bon voyage!
