What do we do with underarm hair?

Ricky Rubio

Let's talk about underarm hair. Some men find that they lose their masculinity if they are shaved, while for others, trimming their armpits is something sacred in their personal hygiene routine.

Both options seem perfect to us. Hairy armpits (as long as the hair does not emerge unsightly from under the arms) are no better than shaved armpits and vice versa, although today's note is addressed to men in the second group: those who prefer keep underarm hair short.

When choosing a method to remove underarm hair, our advice is to opt for a hair clipper or, better yet, a body shaver, since it is the only way in which we can prevent the annoying punctures that occur in the area when we wax or shave and the tips of the hairs begin to protrude from the skin.

The ideal length for armpit hair It is between 1,5 and 2 cm, slightly less if we have curly hair, or what is the same, the lower numbers of the clipper or body shaver.

Before trimming the hair it is important moisten the area with hot water to soften hair and reduce the chances of irritation or ingrown hairs, but remember that water and electrical appliances do not mix well, so allow a few minutes for the skin to absorb much of the water. Remember that what we are looking for is moisture, not a drip of water.

After trimming, do not skimp on care, since, as you know, it is a very sensitive area. Apply a aftershave balm that does not contain alcohol (very important) and, if you are one of those who cannot do without their deodorant, you can put it on, but having waited two or three minutes after the balm. The next day, and always since then, do not hesitate to include the armpits in the areas where you apply moisturizer daily.
