It is a fairly widespread belief that cellulite is only a woman's thing. It really is not like this: men are also prone to suffer from this evil.
The advantage for us is that 90% of cases occur in girls and that, thanks to the characteristics of our body, we are rarely noticed with the naked eye.
What is cellulite?
Basic definition: inflammation of cellular tissue that is under the skin, especially in the thighs, buttocks and abdomen.
This results in a malformation, totally unsightly.
The causes why cellulite can appear are usually:
- hormonal problems, which directly result in the accumulation of fat in the tissues, as well as the retention of fluid.
- Bad nutrition: Those who abuse junk food or a diet high in fat are more likely to suffer from these types of problems (and many others).
- Do not exercise. The lack of exercise in the muscles plays in favor of the appearance of cellulite.
- Too much stress.
Why is it not noticeable in men?
The reason is simple: we have thicker skin than women, which makes the irregularities that grow on the surface less protruding. But it is only a visual effect that allows us to disguise. Up close and to the touch it can be appreciated.
Recommendations
In addition to a correct diet, exercising regularly and avoiding becoming overly anxious, there are other measures to consider to avoid the appearance of cellulite:
- Resorting to alternative practices such as mesotherapy, pressotherapy and lymphatic massages, all this with the purpose of improve blood circulation and eliminate toxins.
- Use hydrating creams. Skin care has long ceased to be exclusively feminine. Dryness can often lead to problems, which can include cellulite.
Is cellulite only a woman's thing? Of course not. You must take care.
