The new pain from talking a lot on the cell phone

Technology has already taken us in all cases of everyday life. We use the computer to work, the car to get around, the microwave to cook and the cell phone to communicate. They relieve us a lot from our daily routine, but with its excessive use it affects our organism.

The case we will talk about today is excessive use of the cell phone, which can cause permanent damage to the elbow nerve. This is known as the Elbow Syndrome and it is produced by a hyperextension of the nerves of the elbow to talk on a cell phone.

The posture with which we use the mobile phone, bringing it closer to the ear, causes a hyperextension of the nerves of the elbow, which causes a painful sensation and numbness of the sensations between the elbow and the fingers.

This can permanently damage the ulnar nerve, when it is held in that position and consequently tension, for a long time. When you hold the cell phone to your ear, the ulnar nerve (which runs below the humerus) is stretched, restricting the flow of blood to the nerve, causing the sensation of numbness. Once the nerve is damaged it can affect us in everyday things of our daily routine such as writing by hand or on the computer or playing instruments, among other things.

This syndrome can be prevented by frequently changing the handheld mobile phone, reducing the duration of calls or using hands-free use. People who already have serious ulnar nerve problems require surgery.
