London bets on utilitarianism for next autumn

Utilitarianism

Utilitarianism - a word to be prepared to hear a lot this year - is gaining great strength. This trend has just been imposed at London Fashion Week, one of the four great fashion events, so 2018 will be a great year for cargo clothing and rough footwear.

Oliver Spencer, Belstaff, Wood Wood ... There are many British firms that have opted for the abundance of pockets and work clothes in their autumn / winter 2018-2019 collections.

Oliver Spencer combines utilitarianism and tailoring through this houndstooth suit, proving that they are two styles that can work well together if approached in the right way.

One of Belstaff's proposals is this simple urban look. The lower part of the style is made up of cargo pants and genuine military boots. The place chosen for the session leaves no doubt as to the intentions of the firm.

In addition to its characteristic baggy tailoring, E. Tautz's collection also includes wide-leg cargo pants, shoes with blunt soles and practical denim garments and checked shirts.

Christopher Raeburn's garments overflow with functionality. Pieces where the pockets, zippers and velcro are not simple ornaments, but give the feeling of being the origin and the reason for being the same.

BAND OF OUTSIDERS

The cargo jacket –like those proposed by Wood Wood and BAND OF OUTSIDERS– is emerging as workwear alternative to denim and bomber jackets looking forward to next fall / winter.
