Having a cluttered closet may seem like an advantage from an options point of view, as it means that there are many items to choose from every day. However, it is very impractical.
And it is that when this circumstance occurs it takes more time to identify and extract each piece. Not to mention how overwhelming are the places where disorder and lack of space reign. To avoid it, try to buy only what you are going to use and follow these steps.
When is a closet considered cluttered?
Before you start, make sure your closet does indeed need a lightening. The clearest sign is when not even a finger fits in the space between each of the pieces that are hanging on the bar. The goal is to fit one finger (two if possible) to be able to see and handle them more easily.
Take out the pieces that you no longer use
There are two main reasons to stop wearing certain clothes and accessories. It may be because the part in question is out of date; or simply because your size has changed in recent years. In any case, if you no longer use them, the smartest thing is to prevent them from taking up precious space in your closet.
Separate by seasons
Keeping garments that we will not use for several months in a privileged place is not advisable if we want to get a more spacious wardrobe. So consider separating your clothes by seasons (fall / winter and spring / summer) and leave only the pieces related to the current season. Take out the rest.
Keep in boxes what you have taken
Now is the time to take care of everything that you have been taking out. Store it in plastic boxes or empty travel bags. Tuck them under the bed (or in a hole in the same closet, if there is space left) until the change of season. Regarding what you no longer use, you can do the same if you think you will have the opportunity to take advantage of it in the future. If not, consider donating it.
