chilblains

El chilblain It is those inflammation of the skin caused by poor blood flow, accompanied by itching and pain.

It is produced by the repeated or prolonged effect of cold or humidity. It usually affects a small number of parts of the body, especially the feet, hands, fingers and ears.

The main symptoms are: itching, burning, pain, cold, humidity, icy hands and a red nose, cold feet, among others.

Chilblains are caused by poor circulation, however, there are some factors that can predispose you to chilblains:

  • Cold: cold is a vasoconstrictor, that is, it reduces blood circulation in the hands and feet.
  • Moisture: the skin becomes more sensitive when the affected parts are moist.
  • Inappropriate clothing and housing: wearing clothes that are not suitable for the cold or a damp and cold house allow the development of chilblains.
  • Ingestion of toxins: tobacco and alcohol impair blood circulation, which facilitates their appearance.
  • Diet: inadequate nutrition, devoid of natural foods, especially those that contain vitamin C and A, can precipitate its development.

Chilblains do not require any special treatment. Only those chilblains that do not heal, those with significant wounds, require medical attention.

I suffer from chilblains and believe me it is not pleasant to walk with them on my hands and feet, the truth is something very annoying, it itches, it hurts and they are unbearable, I do not treat them, since my doctor told me that they would go out alone and it was a problem of my circulation, so there you have to arm yourself with patience so that they disappear alone.
